We only ask for information that is essential for processing an order:
We only hold the personal data that is required for us to process and fulfill your order. When an order is placed either online or over the phone, the information we obtain is:
- Billing and delivery address
- Phone number
- Email address
(Card details go through our secure payment partner Sage Pay who take the information through their secure servers and encrypt all data)
When do we take this data:
We take your data at point of order and also if you choose to sign up and become a registered customer.
Why we hold this information:
We only keep this information as it is required in order to process and fulfill the customers order. Any phone calls or emails sent to the customer will be in relation to their order with us. We will send a confirmation email and a dispatch email to communicate the progress of the order. When a customer orders a sample from our website, we will follow this up with an email after around 7 days to ensure the samples have arrived and if the customer would like to process the full order.
How is the data held:
Your data is held within our website database which is hosted on our secure Server provider and access to our admin system is password protected with just the staff members responsible for the orders having access.
How we use your data:
We may kindly ask you to review our product and service from your order. This will be using Trustpilot. Trustpilot is an independent customer reviewing platform where shoppers like you read, write and share reviews on your experience with The Sewing House and other retailers. We only provide Trustpilot with your email address to contact you regarding your order from The Sewing House. You can opt out of receiving emails from Trustpilot by clicking on the unsubscribe button link at the bottom of their email. We appreciate all feedback given and are always trying to keep our customers happy with quality products and service.
The courier service will be provided with your address and contact details so that we are able to complete the delivery of your order.
If you opt into our marketing communications your data will be shared with our third party marketing automation provider. You can opt out at this at any time.
We will not disclose your information to third parties other than what is outlined above.
How long is your data kept:
We store your data securely on our database indefinitely. This helps us if you place another order and want the same or related products to a past order. We can then process the order more efficiently. This allows us to provide better customer service and make additional orders efficient.
Getting in touch/removing any data:
If you would like any of your data removed from our system please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call one of our sales advisors and we can go through any queries you have regarding your personal data.
You will only receive marketing communications from us if you have agreed to join our mailing list. We will ask that you provide opt in consent for our marketing communication before sharing your data with a third party marketing automation provider.
You can unsubscribe at any point and we will not send you any further marketing communications again unless you opt back in. You can unsubscribe to our marketing communications by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of any marketing email that we send or by contacting us directly email@example.com to be removed from the marketing mailing list.
