Products on our website may vary slightly from the photos. All products have been digitally produced and are displayed as accurately as possible, however due to various monitor display settings and different brands of monitors the images on our website should be used as illustrative purposes only. We strongly advise that you use our free sampling service to get the most accurate view of what the design will look like, which you can read about below. Whilst every attempt will be made to ensure you that the products we make match the images on our website and samples sent to you, any minor or immaterial variation change in colour or pattern in goods delivered does not entitle you to reject the goods or claim any compensation.
Fabric colour varies slightly from batch to batch, due to it being a natural product. Because of this, we cannot guarantee shade matching to any previous orders. The sample you receive could also be a slightly different shade to your final product. Any samples you may receive might not show the full pattern repeat, if you have any concerns regarding the fabric you should speak to one of our sales advisers before placing your order. We highly recommend that you take advantage of our free fabric sampling service before purchasing a made to measure product to ensure you are happy with the fabric. You will not be entitled to compensation or refunds if you the design you have chosen doesnt match your expectations.
Fabric care and washing
Every fabric on our website will handle differently when touched, washed or wiped. Please contact our sales team for further information on the care needed for the design you have chosen. As a general rule, all fabrics should be hand rinsed with warm water. Fabrics can shrink and pucker if not handled correctly. It is the customers responsibility to look after the products purchased from The Sewing House and we will not accept returns or refunds from any orders that have been damaged or handled incorrectly after purchase.
What is pattern matching?
We offer pattern matching on our products. This is something to consider if you have multiple blinds / curtains in the same window or room. We pattern match our curtains and blinds by centralizing the pattern from the top of the fabric. We are unable to match fabric like you would wallpaper. We offer a free sampling service, so that you can view your chosen fabrics before deciding which you would like to purchase. You will find the “Free Sample” button on all of our product pages, and you will be able to select up to 6 different samples. Our free sampling service is limited to 6 samples per customer, however, if you require any more than this, please get into contact with our sales team, who will be more than happy to accommodate to your needs.
Return Policy on made to measure products
All our curtains, roman blinds, wooden blinds and cushions are made to measure products. These products are custom made to your requirements. Once made, those products are only suitable to you and therefore we cannot accept any cancellations or returns. You are responsible for providing accurate measurements, we advise that you use our measuring guide found on our website so that you are certain you have provided the correct sizes for us to make.
Return Policy on standard products
You may return any unused standard products in their original packaging within 14 days of the date of delivery. Please note that it is your responsibility to have the items returned to us and will be at your cost. Once returned The Sewing House will process your refund. The return address for standard products is The Sewing House, Stanhope Mill, Stanhope Street, Long Eaton, NG10 4QN. All products from our Homeware section are classed as standard products. Please be aware that this policy excludes any made to measure products (curtains, roman blinds, wooden blinds and cushions).
Damaged or faulty goods
All our products are checked throughout the manufacturing process and will be subject to a final quality before being packaged and delivered to you. In the unlikely event that you experience any issues please contact our sales advisors. You have 14 days following receipt of goods to report any damage or defective goods. If alterations are required Sewing House will have the goods collected free of charge to make the alterations. This will be done as a priority to minimise time you are without the items. If items are not able to be altered we reserve the right to ask for digital pictures of the issue and will arrange for a replacement to be sent if deemed necessary.
Order cancellation or amendments
When you place your order you are agreeing to a legal binding contract. Cancellations are still possible and a full refund will be issued as long as the products or parts have not been made. You are entitled to a partial refund if only the parts have been made and the final product has not been started. If you wish to cancel your order you should do so as soon as possible. We advise that you check your confirmation email and sizes entered to ensure you have ordered correctly. If you wish to make any amendments to your order you should do so as soon as possible. If the order has not been started we will be able to change the sizes for you. If the products have started the production process we will be unable to change the size. Fabrics will be ordered at place of order, therefore you will not be able to make amendments to fabric choices after placing the order.
Please note that all our products are made by experienced and skilled operators who will make your order as accurate as possible within a +/- 1cm tolerance on roman blinds and 1.5cm tolerance on made to measure curtains. We will not replace the order if the products are made within our tolerance limit and you will not be entitled to reject the product or claim any compensation.
The final price of your order will be shown at the checkout stage and also on your confirmation email. The price includes VAT and delivery for all UK Mainland orders. Deliveries outside of mainland UK are subject to extra delivery charges.
We can only process your order once payment has been made in full by credit or debit card. You can pay online using all major credit cards, debit cards and PayPal. You will be charged for items at point of order. We only accept orders that have secure socket layer (SSL) technology so you will not be able to place an order through an unsecured connection. Your payment details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access.
We typically operate at a 10-15 working day lead time on all our orders. You will be given an estimated delivery date with your confirmation order. During periods such as Christmas delivery times could be longer. Delivery will be made to the address you have provided at point of sale. If you need to amend this address please contact our sales advisors as soon as possible. All our orders are delivered using TNT Express service which offers a next day delivery on all UK Mainland orders. We will not be liable for loss occasioned by delay in delivery or arising out of any cause beyond our control. You will be emailed a tracking number once your order has been made and you will be able to track your order on the TNT website and contact delivery company directly if needed. If you have hired a curtain/blind fitter for your products we recommend not booking their services until your order has arrived and has been checked for any defects.
